Jason was able to take time off of work to spend the holidays with us. We went to NJ a few days before Christmas and escaped to New York by ourselves while the girls stayed with Nana & Pop Pop. We visited ground zero and Jason got a tattoo at the Wooster Street Social Club as seen on TLC’s New York Ink. We accomplished two things on our bucket list!

We enjoyed visiting with family and friends for the holidays.

We’d like to wish everyone a happy & healthy holiday season! XOXO

I had to look at the series of these pictures to figure out who was who. They are looking more identical these days. Rylee (L) Madison (R).

Big Girls

November 8, 2011 at 6:13 pm (Uncategorized)

The girls climbed out of their cribs over Halloween weekend. For the most part they have not given us a hard time about napping or going to sleep. Every now and then we find someone on the floor.

Here are some pics that we took this past weekend!

19 months

October 23, 2011 at 8:33 pm (Uncategorized)

Our babies girls turned 19months old on the 2oth. Here’s a bit about them.

Rylee helping daddy tighten the table.

-Loves her baby dolls. She shares her snacks and drinks with them. When we come back home she runs to say hello to them.

-She can tell you the animal sounds for dogs, cats, and a cow.

-She loves fruit.

-She can follow directions that Daddy can’t follow (put your clothes in the hamper).

-She loves to play outside.

Maddy trying on Pop Pop's shoes.

-She loves her baby dolls too. She likes to push them outside in their stroller and snuggle with them at night. She also likes to cook for them in her kitchen.

-She loves animals. She especially loves when her shirts have an animal’s picture on them.

-She gives mommy and daddy kisses for no reason.

-She loves to sing row, row.

-She loves to be around other kiddos.

Both girls have a lot of the same skills and interests at this age. They LOVE to eat. I am pretty sure they eat all day. Their beginning to show empathy towards one another when hurt or sad. They bring each other toys to comfort one another. It’s really sweet.

18 months

September 20, 2011 at 5:46 pm (Uncategorized)

It’s hard to believe the girls were 4 pounds 9 ounces and 17 inches long just a year and a half ago.

Rylee says mama, dada, dog, duck, no, uh-oh, nana, open, up, thank you,

Madison says mama, dada, duck, no, uh-oh, thank you, and approximates many of the words above.

They’re beginning to learn where their body parts are, follow simple directions, and most importantly how to sit in time out.

They love animals especially their dog Solomon and their cats. They especially love ducks.

This past weekend we took them to a fall festival at Cox Farms in Centreville, VA.

Summer 2011

September 6, 2011 at 4:24 pm (Uncategorized)

Today would have been the start of my 7th year of teaching, but today is the start of my new life as a stay at home mommy! I hope to find time during the week to update our blog and share stories, pictures, and updates on the girls. Here are a few pictures from the last few months.

We love looking at animals. We took Nana and Pop Pop to the National Zoo in DC over the Labor Day weekend.

We went to two different spray parks this summer with our playgroups. We were brave enough to walk through the water.

We love to go to the little town of Occquan to feed the ducks and play in the courtyard.

Nana made us tutus. We love to play dress up and push our babies around in our shopping cart.

We went on vacation to Cape May, NJ with Pappy, Mimi, and Aunt Amanda. We loved collecting sea shells with Daddy.

We went to a 4th of July BBQ/baby reveal party at our Uncle Billy and Aunt Laurie’s house. We can’t wait to meet baby Billy!

Time Flies…

March 16, 2011 at 5:10 pm (Uncategorized)

Jason and I have decided that I will take a leave of absence next year to stay home with the girls. Effective June 23, I will be a stay at home mommy!

Sorry that I have neglected my blog. Life is busy with two babies and work, but I promise I will get better once I am home.

The girls turn one on Sunday and we are excited to celebrate with our family and some friends.

We have been celebrating the girls’ first Christmas all month by reading holiday books, decorating our home and Christmas tree, and listening to Christmas music.  We also visited with Sanata. Here are a few pics from this month…
